Know All Present and Future (People) that I William Gerard have given granted and by these my present deed have confirmed unto John Godman and Sybil his wife the eighteen dayworks of land in a certain part of a lane to that lying with all appurtenances lying in the Town of Dartford near a place called Wellefelde in length, with the curtilege of the said John towards the east and the lands of Richard de Winchester on the west, and laterally between the land of John Godman to the north and the lands of John Robekyn to the south. To Have and To Hold the said land with aforesaid appurtenances to the aforesaid John and Sybil and the heirs of the same John of the Lords in Chief of that fee for the services thence owing and the customary rights in perpetuity. And I the said William and my heirs warrant our said lands with the aforesaid part of a lane with all appurtenances to the said John and Sybil and the heirs of the said John and his assigns against all people.
In testimony whereof to this present charter I have affixed my seal, with these witnesses - John Alleyn, Jiohn Clerke, John Michel, John Hwalet, John Darun, John de Cherchman, Will Longchapman and others. Given at Darteford on Saturday next after the Feast of Saint Mark in the thirteenth year of the reign of King Edward the Third after the Conquest.
