TO ALL FAITHFUL IN CHRIST who shall see and hear this present Charter, Waring son of Waring son of Fulcher sends salutations in Our Lord. KNOW all true people that I give and by this present charter confirm to God and the Blessed John Baptist and to the Blessed Poor of the House of the Hospital of Jerusalem and to the Brothers of the said House forty two acres of arable land in Sutton and two and a half acres of meadow land in Dartford with their appurtenances.TO HAVE AND TO HOLD of me and my heirs at a rent each year of Six Pence on the Feast of St Michael for all services and demands, and the Brothers of the said Hospital shall acquit me of all ( ) services. And for this donation and confirmation the Brothers of the aforementioned Hospital shall give me personally twenty five marks sterling, and I and my heirs guarantee so much land as aforesaid against all men and women. And they being aware that the capital messuage and five acres of arable ground and three acres of woods contained within the land mentioned of which the said Brothers of the Hospital have seisin and full possession are retained in my lordship and that of my heirs at a rental - NAMELY to William son of Roger at eighteen pence; to Thomas Fisher at thirty pence: to Peter son of Roger at eight pence, and to the Prior of the House of the Hospital aforesaid at six pence. THAT THIS my gift and confirmation shall remain firm and static in perpetuity, to this Charter I have affixed my official seal. IN WITNESS WHEREOF - William de Senegueya. Robert de Newby Chaplain.
